Application Requirements

The Department of Chemistry requires two sets of official transcripts from each university or college that you have attended. International students must send original language transcripts as well as English translations.

Three reference Letters are required. We do not require special forms for the reference letters. The letters should be from refrences who can comment on your scientific achievments and abilities. These letters can either be electronically added to your application or mailed directly to the departmental graduate admissions office.

A statement of purpose discussing your interest in Chemistry and as well as goals and objectives. This document can be uploaded directly to your electronic application.

GRE scores are not required for admission. However, some internal fellowships require these scores.  You may include unofficial reports in your packet or have official scores sent directly to us.

International students must submit a TOEFL report.  We must be able to verify the report unless you have been enrolled in a graduate program in the United States for at least two years.

Application Deadlines

Applicants with U.S. citizenship and International Students residing in the United States may apply at any time for admission to our graduate program. Priority will be given to applications received prior to April 1 for Fall admission at the present time we do not offer Spring admission.

International applicants must have their complete application, including TOEFL result, submitted before March 1 for Fall admission.

Purdue University has an on-line application procedure. You can complete your application at http://www.gradschool.purdue.edu/admissions. There is a $55.00 University application fee.
