Conference Flyer
This the 42nd Midwest Theoretical Chemistry Conference is being hosted by the Purdue Chemistry Department’s Theory Group. The Conference participants range from internationally renowned senior scientists, some of whom will give plenary lectures- to younger theorists such as: post-docs, graduate students and undergraduates; most participants being from Midwestern theory groups.
A main Conference objective is to present and discuss significant recent results in theoretical chemistry. Additionally we want students to especially benefit not only from the scientific knowledge they acquire, but also from the broad range of people they will meet in the friendly atmosphere provided by this conference.
Theoretical and computational chemistry have long been major research areas at Purdue. Currently, the research of the Purdue theory group covers a broad and rich set of topics which includes, for example: exact properties of small isolated molecules; dynamics of elementary chemical processes in gas phase and in liquid solution; reaction pathways of organic molecules; stability of matter; and control of chemical phenomena in the condensed phase. On this occasion we would like to thank Prof. Igal Szleifer and Dr. Marcelo Carignano for their major efforts to establish the theory group at Purdue. We wish them both great successes in their recent move to Northwestern University.
We are grateful for the support provided by the Cyber Center and the Chemistry Department at Purdue and by Prof. John Adams, University of Missouri-Columbia, for passing funds from previous Midwest Theory meetings.
Enjoy your stay at Purdue and we look forward to your participation and sharing your research.
