Professor Negishi recieves the 2007 Yamada-Koga Prize

 

Professor Ei-ichi Negishi has been selected as the recipient of the 2007 Yamada-Koga Prize for his ground-breaking work in asymmetric synthesis. 

 

The Yamada-Koga Prize is awarded every year to a scientist whose research has had a major impact in the fields of the synthesis of optically active compounds.  Recent winners include S.E. Denmark, S.V. Ley, H. Yamamoto, A.B. Smith, L.E. Oerman, and B.M. Trost.
 
Professor Negishi has been the recipient of other major award including: The Sir Edward Frankland Prize Lectureship, the American Chemical Society Award for Organometallic Chemistry, and the Chemical Society of Japan Award.
