Alpha Chi Sigma was founded on December 11, 1902 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Since then the fraternity has spread across the nation and now includes 50 active collegiate chapters and 17 professional groups and chapters. Total membership includes 60,000 brothers nationwide.

The Beta Nu chapter was founded on June 12, 1955 and branched off of the Zeta chapter at the University of Illinois. Beta Nu is fortunate to be one of ten house chapters. The chapter has been located at 219 W. Fowler Avenue since 1962.
