Raftery - NMR connection: Professor Raftery group has one laser only at this time (4/3/02) but will get another in near future. Between now (4/5/02) and the time the new one is purchased, the one in 4150 (PU ID 1001461 ) will probably be moved into the BRWN LB nmr room. When the new one comes it will be placed there and used for nmr experiments.
WTHR 327 laser (Professor Low group): This laser is part of the detection system in an instrument which measures the deformability of red blood cells, an ektacytometer. It is a class 3A laser and not subject to the same requirements for the Laser Safety Audit process as are Class 3B and 4 lasers. It is left on this list just to serve as an example of a class 3A.
OPG: Optical Parametric Converter
PRIM: Portable Raman Imaging Microscope, designed and built in the Chemsitry Department. The laser diode for this particular system was purchased from Spectracode, testing specs available. Manufacturer not known.
