WHAT IS IT?  A cooperative effort involving NIH's National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, and FDA's National Center for Toxicological Research.  Since 1978 NTP has been designing, conducting, and interpreting animal tests for toxicity and carcinogenicity.
