Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.  (OSHA was created by act of Congress, Public Law 91-596, Richard Nixon signed it.)  Exposure limits and other workplace requirements established to protect workers. The Access to Employee Exposure and Medical Records became part of OSHA legislation.  This is a complement to the HazCom Standard today. OSHA Hazard Communication Standard (29 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 1910.1200), massively increased regulation of hazardous chemicals without naming each individually.  Called HazCom and Employee Right-To-Know, it applies to all employers except that employers engaged in "laboratory use" of hazardous chemicals are exempted from significant portions of the requirements. The Lab Standard ("Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories" (1910.1450) final rule implemented.  This is the primary topic of this module, although this module will mention other safety and health concerns and other types of required or recommended training.
