Hazards Associated with Cryogens - Back Injuries
Back strain/sprain from moving cryogenic containers is the most frequently
reported "cryogenic injury."
| |
|
Remedies:
|
| |
Local Dewar fill stations minimize moving distances.
|
|
Appropriate carts, dollies, trucks minimize moving
effort. |
|
Awareness training, back protection training. |
|
Good physical conditioning, nutrition, and
rest minimize injuries. |
| (!!?? Think about it if
you need to. It makes absolutely no
safety sense to have a person who is out of shape, poorly rested,
or in any way not too healthy, moving a heavy, difficult, and
dangerous load. Does it?!) |
