Hazards Associated with Cryogens - Back Injuries

Back strain/sprain from moving cryogenic containers is the most frequently reported  "cryogenic injury."

Remedies:
Local Dewar fill stations minimize moving distances.
Appropriate carts, dollies, trucks minimize moving effort.
Awareness training, back protection training.
Good physical conditioning, nutrition, and rest minimize injuries.
(!!??  Think about it if you need to.  It makes absolutely no safety sense to have a person who is out of shape, poorly rested, or in any way not too healthy, moving a heavy, difficult, and dangerous load.  Does it?!)
