Tissue Damage
"Burns"
are what they're called even when caused by extreme cold.
- Rarely occurs due to gas film, but don't handle too long.
- No film protection with CO2, ammonia.
Cold metal parts can freeze tissue:
- No protective gas film.
- Skin moisture freezes (like tongue on frozen
metal).
Remedy: Wear protective gear/clothing such as eye and face
protection (required), loose-fitting gloves, and
cuffless trousers over boots (no sneakers).
