Hazard Communication - Chemical Safety

Hazards of Chemicals

There are 2 basic types of chemical hazards

1. Physical Hazards

Basically, these are energy hazards that can blow you up, burn you up, freeze your skin.
2. Health Hazards Hazards that chemically hurt your body.  Make you sick, dissolve your skin, give you a rash or an allergy.  Or cancer.  Or reproductive problems or birth defects.

This distinction between "physical" and "health" hazards has little bearing on the FIRST RULE below.

The first rule of Chemical safety is "Know what you are working with and how to protect yourself and others"
