I use various chemicals, mainly nucleic acids and metal-binding ligands, to try and synthesize new ligand-linked nucleic acid compounds. I use numerous flasks, separatory funnels, beakers, graduated cylinders, and measuring devices. I also use a Rotovap for solvent evaporation and NMR spectroscopy on occasion for product identification.

I am not for sure what chemicals/procedures will be used in the lab. I do, however, know that I will be assisting in the building of a polypeptide, which will be sent off for testing as a possible therapy for the HIV virus.
