The Chemistry Department at Purdue University is inviting high school students to a one-day workshop aimed at careers in chemistry and related sciences.

    This workshop provides an opportunity for high school students from all backgrounds to have hands-on learning experiences in a college setting. Students will interact with female faculty while learning about their cutting edge research programs as well as careers related to those fields.

    Also planned is time for students to see what being a science major at one of the top chemistry departments in the country is like. Students will perform actual freshman chemistry laboratories in a college setting as well as have the opportunity to network and ask questions to a panel of current Purdue students. Students will be paired with a Purdue undergraduate or graduate student that is currently studying chemistry or a related field. This gives each high school student the chance to get information about the college application process, life in college, and career as a science major.
