We are using NMR imaging and solid state NMR to study molecular dynamics in polymers.  Our goal is to develop new insights into how molecular structure and dynamics are connected to the bulk properties of materials such as failure modes.  We are synthesizing molecules to permit the rational design of new polymeric materials.  The chemistry of sugars inside zeolites is being studied with solid stated NMR.
