EMPLOYMENT
- Research/Teacher Assistant for Department of Chemistry at Purdue University (Sept 2021 – Present )
- Research/Teacher Assistant for Chemistry Department at University of Alberta (May 2018 – May 2021)
- Full-time employee for P&G Industrial S.A. (January 2010 – October 2017)

EXPERIENCE
- Developed, validated, and transferred five (5) analytical HPLC-PDA-based methods for the identification and quantification of APIs and related substances in pharmaceutical finished products, and making equipment. Methods were successfully transferred to LA plants in Mexico and Brazil.
- Wrote three (3) analytical test methods for routine use in quality control (QC) laboratories of personal health care (PHC) products in LA plants located in Mexico and Brazil. Led trainings in HPLC-based methods for laboratory analysts in R&D site and in PHC plants located in LA. Participated in investigations of out of specification (OOS) in finished pharmaceutical dosage forms.
- Developed native ESI-MS-based methods for the identification and quantification of protein-small molecule interactions (e.g. carbohydrates) using quadrupole-time of flight (Q-ToF, Waters) and quadrupole-Orbitrap (Thermo Scientific) mass analyzers in physiologically relevant conditions (e.g. biological buffer (PBS)). These measurements allowed a better understanding of the nature of the interaction in conditions relevant to human biological fluids. Publication: Báez Bolivar, E.G. et.al. Anal.Chem. 2021, 93, 4231-4239.
- Performed N-glycan analysis using hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) coupled to fluorescence (FL) detection and mass spectrometry (HILIC-FL-MS) to calculate the glycan content of glycoproteins (e.g. prostate specific antigen (PSA)). Developed an extraction procedure for PSA from serum, highlighted in the acknowledgement of Li, Z. et al. Anal. Chem. 2023, 95, 10903-10912.
- Hands-on-lab experience with CE-MS (Sciex) for the identification of peptides, glycans and intact protein analysis.
