Negishi traveling to Stockholm to receive Nobel Prize

Nobel laureate Ei-ichi Negishi, the Herbert C. Brown Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, is traveling from Japan to Sweden to prepare for upcoming Nobel Prize week festivities, Dec 5-11.

Dr. Negishi will be joined by family and friends, including Purdue President France A. Córdova, First Gentleman Chris Foster, and College of Science Dean Jeffrey Roberts.

Journal & Courier reporter Eric Weddle is also a member of the group and will post stories at the newspaper's special Negishi Nobel section.

Dr. Negishi and his fellow chemistry laureates will hold a press conference on Tuesday, December 7th. They will present their Nobel lectures on Wednesday, December 8th. Medals will be presented during the Nobel Prize Ceremony on Friday, December 10th. On Saturday, the honorees will dine at the Royal Banquet.
