Gaurav Chopra, assistant professor of analytical and physical chemistry, is working with Purdue’s Envision Center to make a virtual reality-based drug discovery game powered by their very own drug docking and design software.

Combing a virtual reality headset with wireless hand controls and motion-tracking sensors will allow users to immerse themselves in a virtual world – a technology that could help in visualizing and developing new drugs.

The technology will be demonstrated at the Drug Discovery Symposium on September 30th and the Envision Center will showcase it at the 2016 Dawn or Doom Conference.

The Chopra Lab is also developing education-based tutorials with Roy Tasker, professor of chemical education.
