Department of Energy funding for Quantum Information Science

Sabre Kais, professor physical/theoretical chemistry and computer science, has been awarded U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) funding to advance work in quantum information and computing.

Kais, the principal investigator, is part of a Purdue team including Yong Chen (Physics & Astronomy), Libai Huang (Chemistry), and Dmitry Zemlyanov in collaboration with the University of Chicago team David Mazziotti and John Anderson.

The nearly $2.5 million award spans three years and is for “Quantum Computing Algorithms and Applications for Coherent and Strongly Correlated Chemical Systems.”
