Our research program aims broadly at developing new mass spectrometry (MS) methods for bio-analysis. Research efforts are currently focused on utilizing radical reactions as a unique approach to provide high level of structural information of proteins and lipids, such as disulfide linkage pattern and carbon-carbon double bond location. We are also developing new MS instrumentation to investigate radical attack to biomolecules in the gas phase and characterizing a series of peptide or protein radicals which are of biological importance.
