Program Overview
The Research Experience for Undergraduates in Mass Spectrometry
will run for 8 weeks in the summer of 2010, starting on June 7. Students will carry out research projects with
participating faculty in the Department of Chemistry at Purdue University. In addition, students will participate in
weekly lunch seminars on the diverse applications of mass spectrometry in all
fields of science.
Students will be provided with a stipend of $500/week ($4000
total), in addition to housing in a furnished apartment, a weekly meal stipend,
and funds for travel to and from the REU site.
Students in the program will also be given the opportunity to
present the results of their work at a national scientific conference, such as
the national meeting of the American
Society for Mass Spectrometry.
