Analyze This Analytical Chemistry Applied to Interdisciplinary Research

Alexander Laskin

Alexander Laskin

Professor Alex Laskin’s research group conducts research in the area of Atmospheric Aerosol Chemistry, which includes the following topics (1) Development and applications of new analytical methods for comprehensive chemical characterization of aerosols, (2) Chemical imaging and molecular characterization of environmental particles and interfaces, (3) Experimental laboratory and field studies of aerosol chemistry.

A REU student working with the A. Laskin group would be actively engaged in one of the ongoing projects led by graduate students and postdocs focused on understanding the origin, molecular composition and atmospheric transformations of light absorbing organic aerosols (aka ‘brown carbon’), Anticipated REU mentor(s) would be chosen among the graduate students and postdocs in the laboratory.
