This site provides images that accompany your molecular structure laboratory.

Your textbook shows spacefilling images of molecules, inages that represent the space that the molecules occupy. One of these images is shown to the left.

It is easier to see the geometry of a molecule if it is drawn as a "ball and stick" image with small spheres indicating the locations of atoms and sticks showing bonds. Click on the button labeled "show ball and stick model" to see the corresponding ball and stick figure.

You can return to the space filling figure by clicking the button labeled "show spacefilling model" or you can reload the image in its original orientation with the button labeled "reload".

It may be helpful to move the model in order to see its geometry more clearly. You can use the button labeled "spin on". Alternatively, you can place the cursor on the model, hold the left mouse button, and drag.
