Ion Soft Landing Overview

Ions are unique building blocks for materials design. Intact deposition of mass-selected polyatomic ions (ion soft landing) is a powerful technique for the preparation well-defined interfaces with superior activity, selectivity, and durability for both fundamental and applied studies in catalysis and energy storage. We develop ion soft-landing instruments for the precisely controlled deposition of both positive and negative ions to address some of the ongoing challenges in materials science. We also develop approaches for controlling the reactivity of ions on surfaces.
