Purdue Chemistry: Tong Ren Group: Research Synopsis

Research Synopsis

Our group has a long standing interest in conjugated organometallic compounds as potential molecular wires and opto-electronic materials based on diruthenium compounds. Recently, our focus has shifted to metal alkynyls based on the 3d metal-cyclam complexes with an emphasis on the photo-induced electron/energy transfer in donor-bridge-acceptor dyads. Additionally, we are interested in electrochemical and photo-electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide based on new nickel macrocyclic complexes.
