Multimodal Imaging
We are developing new approaches for multimodal imaging of biological systems, which will enable quantitative measurement of chemical gradients of molecules involved in cellular communication and in situ imaging of metabolic processes. Recently, we combined nano-DESI MSI with shear force microscopy which enabled simultaneous imaging of sample topography and chemical composition. This approach is particularly advantageous for imaging living microbial community and high-resolution tissue imaging.
