Add/Drop Policies for General Chemistry Courses
(CHM 11100, 11200, 11510, 11520, 11530, 11610, 11620, 11630, 12500, 12600, 12901, 13600)
Add Dates:
Effective Spring 26, Deadlines to add General Chemistry Courses are as follows. All required actions must be completed by 4:59 PM EST on said deadline day.

- Friday of Week 1 (1/16): last day to add any course or switch sections without instructor approval
- Friday of Week 2 (1/23): last day to add any course or switch sections with instructor approval
- Friday of Week 3 (1/30): last day to switch to a lower Gen Chem course (e.g., 11510 to 11100, 12901 to 11100, 11610 to 11200) with instructor approvall
Adding separate lab and lecture courses:
- To enroll in a lab class (e.g., CHM 11520), students must be concurrently registered for the corresponding lecture or have already completed the lecture (in this case, CHM 11510).
- Students can take the lecture (CHM 11510) without the lab (CHM 11520 or 11530).
- CHM 11520/30 is a prerequisite for CHM 11620/30 so students cannot take them for the first time in the same semester.
Dropping a Class:
- Students who drop a lecture class at any point in the semester are required to also drop the labif they do not have prior credit for the lecture .
- Students can remain in the lecture (CHM 11510) if they drop the lab (CHM 11520/11530).
- For CHM 12901 students, if you drop a corequisite Math class, you also have to drop CHM 12901. After the end of Week 12 students can drop Math and stay in CHM 12901.
