  • Purdue Ties
    • Hosted by the Purdue for Life Foundation, Purdue Ties provides you the ability to find mentors among Purdue alumni; connect with peers; join clubs, networks, and groups near you; search for job openings with Purdue and PRF's business partners; and connect with other Purdue faithful in similar career paths.

  • The University of Michigan offers a great "Graduate Student Mentoring Guide" for students that explains the importance of finding mentors outside of your major advisor and committee to your professional growth and personal wellbeing. 
  • Women in Science Program at Purdue (WISP) Graduate Mentoring Program
    • Per WISP's homepage, "The Graduate Mentoring Program is a series of dinner meetings that feature a speaker in a relevant field, allows busy, dedicated scientists to share their experiences with one another at a convenient time...These meetings are invaluable in that they provide contact with role models, who are successful women in science, to the students in science. In addition, these meetings provide an opportunity to increase informal networking between faculty members and graduate students."

For Graduate Students Interested in Becoming Mentors

  • Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) Mentorship Tools and Toolkits
    • A collection of resources to help with mentorship skill development.
  • The College of Science Bridge for Pursuing Higher Degrees Program (B4PhD)
    • B4PhD is a free program for undergraduate students offered by Purdue's College of Science who are interested in becoming COS graduate students.
    • B4PhD Graduate Student Mentors interested in sharing their graduate experience while gaining some mentorship skills can apply to mentor prospective graduate students taking part in the program.

  • Purdue Honors College Future Mentors Program
    • The John Martinson Honors College at Purdue offers graduate students a 3-credit graduate level course (HONR 59901) in fall semester for mentor training and practicum experience.
    • In addition to a series of mentorship training seminars, graduate student mentors will be paired with two JMHC undergrad students from Chemistry or College of Science so they can develop a personal approach to mentoring.
