The American Chemical Society (ACS)
The largest general chemistry professional organization has a wealth of career preparation resources for graduate students, including a page devoted to helping graduate students build their network. You find events to attend and organizations you can join both national and more locally.
ACS offers two levels of membership for graduate students, a free basic package and a $55 membership which carries the same benefits as the organization's premium membership plan.
The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChe)
NOBCChe's offers its graduate student members the following network and mentoring opportunities:
- Access to professionals who have been where you are and are invested in your success
- Career coaching and mentoring by seasoned NOBCChE members
- Special networking events for student and professional chapters
NOBCChe's national conference also offers graduate students a great opportunity to network with members from around the country. A $50 membership fee also entitles grad. student members to other professional advancement and leadership development opportunities and resources.
