Donna Nelson begins 2016 ACS term

Donna J. Nelson, a 1983 Purdue postdoctoral researcher with 1979 Chemistry Nobel Laureate Herbert C. Brown, began her 2016 term as President of the American Chemical Society – the world’s largest scientific society with more than 158,000 members.
Purdue Chemistry has two other recent connections to ACS presidents including Thomas H. Lane (2009 ACS President) who received his undergraduate education at Purdue, and Joseph S. Francisco (2010 ACS President) who was a long-time faculty member in our department.
