September has been a busy month for Purdue Science Express. Seventeen new high school teachers were trained on Science Express equipment – bringing the total number of teachers in the program to 170.
The program received $65,000 from the Office of Engagement that will be distributed over the next four years.
And Science Express coordinated an effort to help a school in Baton Rouge affected by recent flooding.
Science Express coordinator Zach Grigsby was notified by some teachers in our program who heard about a school in Baton Rouge that lost everything in the floods. “Zach contacted all the Science Express teachers and asked them to donate any spare science equipment, and this week we filled two skids and shipped them out,” said Bill Bayley, Science Express director.
