Undergrad earns SURF Symposium Award

Undergraduate Amanda Everly won a SURF Summer Symposium Award for her work in Professor Angeline Lyon’s lab.
Over the summer, Mandy conducted 10 weeks of virtual structural biology research with Dr. Lyon and her other lab mentors, Elizabeth Garland-Kuntz and Dr. Isaac Fisher.
“My project was titled ‘Structural Studies of Phospholipase C ε’ and I presented on an approximately 11 angstrom reconstruction of a truncated PLC ε variant that I was able to produce using cryo-electron microscopy,” she explained.
A native of West Lafayette, Mandy is a junior double-majoring in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Public Health.
She plans to intern at AbbVie next summer in their clinical trial operations program.
