Graduate Student Recruitment Committee

Purpose: This committee serves to aid the Department in recruiting new prospective graduate students through recruitment events such as the Open House Weekends.

Mental Health Awareness Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the Mental Health Awareness Committee is to provide general awareness within the department about mental health issues and resources afforded to the students for help with these issues. We also aim to improve student-faculty interactions, maintain a culture of good mental health through social events, and encourage students to seek help when needed.

Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Purpose: The Diversity and Inclusion (We All Belong) Committee works to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all graduate students. Members will help organize monthly coffee chats, cultural activities, and other events that encourage open conversations and strengthen our community. We are looking for dependable, creative, and inclusive students who enjoy working with others. Members will gain leadership, teamwork, and event-planning experience while helping every student feel heard, respected, and included.

Outreach Committee

Purpose: The purpose of the GSAB Committee on Outreach is to find and provide opportunities for graduate students in the Chemistry Department to participate in outreach events within the Greater Lafayette community. Volunteering in the community serves as a resume booster for students and provides an outlet to de-stress as well as a sense of purpose outside of research and teaching responsibilities.

Professional Development Committee

Purpose:The GSAB Committee on Professional Development provides professional development opportunities for graduate students in the Chemistry Department at Purdue University, preparing them for successful careers in academia, industry, and beyond. It does this by hosting seminars, panel discussions, workshops, networking events, and informal gatherings that build valuable skills, connections, and insights by engaging faculty, alumni, and industry professionals.

Social Planning Committee

Purpose: The Committee on Social Planning is tasked with organizing and holding social events for the Graduate Student Community of the Chemistry Department at Purdue University in order to provide a forum for socialization and friendship within the Department.

Media Committee

Purpose: The GSAB Media Team captures the moments that bring our Chemistry graduate community together and keeps those memories alive through photos, videos, and stories. We welcome students who enjoy photography, writing, or content creation, along with anyone eager to learn. Join us to grow your creative skills, connect with fellow students, and help tell the story of our community.

Departmental Survey Committee

Purpose: This Committee was formed for the express purpose of creating, maintaining, and analyzing surveys that can be used to evaluate various aspects of the Graduate Student Program.
