Professor Jonathan Wilker's materials chemistry research is featured in the March 2016 edition of Allure Magazine:

A Better Lash Glue

What do mussels and oysters have to do with beauty? Turns out the mollusks’ natural adhesive – water-insoluble and nearly impossible to unstick – could lead to a revolutionary new lash and nail glue. A team of chemists and engineers at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, is using it as inspiration for a safe adhesive to use with lash extensions and acrylic nails. “We have some formulations that look promising,“ says Jonathan Wilker, a professor at Purdue. These long-lasting adhesives could potentially hit the market in the next five years.
