Biochemistry offers cutting-edge research programs in the studies of biological systems. Our multidisciplinary programs encompass both fundamental and translational research, including elucidation of the molecular mechanisms in physiological and pathological states in cells and animal models. Our interdisciplinary projects include structural biology, signal transduction, design and synthesis of receptor-targeted imaging and therapeutic agents, tools for rapid detection and identification of pathogens, development of chemical and optical probes for drug discovery and small molecule therapeutics for various human diseases.
