Photomultiplier Tube Power Supply
Many Amy Facility projects are a combined effort of several facility staff members, from design to fabrication to calibration. An example is this project for the Garth Simpson research group: a customized all-in-one power supply for a commercial Hamamatsu Photomultiplier Tube (PMT) with a diverse set of power requirements. With a single connection, this supply will power the PMT with +5V for internal amplifiers, +12V for the PMT, 2.8A constant current (3.3V max) for a Peltier cooler, 1.1V for gain control, and ground connections for all inputs. All power outputs are regulated to less than 5mV voltage ripple. This power supply is a part of the larger project that customized the commercial Hamamatsu PMT.
